This recipe combines my two favorite things: fresh garden produce and an easy weeknight side dish. We grew about eight shishito pepper plants this year in our garden, and they’ve been producing like wild. This is our first year growing shishitos, and we’ve been super happy with the crop.

We absolutely love our >Air Fryer and I’ve been trying all kinds of delicious vegetables in it.  I’ve been having a lot of fun trying out new ways to use it, and let me tell you, the air fryer is made for shishito peppers. These peppers were an amazing side dish with stew!  The air fryer gets the peppers crispy on both sides, and tender in the middle.

What’s In This Air Fried Snap Peas Recipe?

See the recipe card below for full ingredient amounts and recipe instructions!

  • Shishito Peppers – I used ones fresh from the garden. If you can find them in season, try local ones.
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil: I like to use this fruity olive oil which has a fantastic flavor and deep color- it’s inexpensive & I like to keep a few liters stocked up in my pantry.  For the quality of oil you get, it’s an excellent value.
  • Toasted Sesame Oil: The sesame oil gives the perfect toasty flavor to the peppers.
  • Garlic Salt: for a sprinkle of flavor and saltiness, which is really great on the peas!
  • Lemon Juice – for a little extra pop of flavor at the end.
